INSPIRATION: WATER FOR ELEPHANTS

The hubby and I recently saw "Water for Elephants" it was a good movie plus it had tons of animals always a plus in my book!! Another reason I liked the movie was all the inspiring images I saw. Watching the movie gave me inspiration for a bedroom...maybe a guestroom?? Who knows all I know is I WANT IT :)...

...To start off isn't this bed beautiful...
...I love these beautiful pieces of luggage for side tables...

...These industrial lamps would be perfect for the side tables...

...Beautiful bedding...
...I would love it if I could have these amazing dark wood shutter doors..mmm...

...Cool wood shelves like these would work perfect to hold all of our knick knacks from our travels around the world (yes that was dreaming a little but it is our goal to explore the world starting with our trip to New Zealand that I talked about in a previous post)

...And to top it all off either one of these AMAZING elephant pictures...I prefer the one with the elephant laying down it is such a cool and beautiful photo, and one of the cutest animals out there in my opinion! The hubby would say I think all animals are the cutest animals which is very true. I can't help it I LOVE ALL ANIMALS!

Have there been any movies that have really inspired you?? I love the feeling of being inspired!
ENJOY!

HAPPY EASTER!!

Easter was always one of my favorite holidays. We would wake up extra early for sunrise service then our whole family would gather at our house for an amazing lunch!! Over this past year there have been a lot of changes. Rick and I got married and my family moved over to N. Carolina so this Easter really is different then all the rest. Although things are different there is one thing that has and always will stay the same, the resurrection of Jesus which is what we are really celebrating on Easter. I hope everyone has a fantastic day with all your family and loved ones!! I am about to go stuff myself with some amazing ham and mashed potatoes mmmmm!!!

                                                     HAVE A BLESSED EASTER!!

NORTH CAROLINA 2011

Well the hubby and I are back from N.C. we got in LATE last night...not the greatest of flights: arrived late to first stop, darted across Dallas Airport ("Home Alone" status) to get to connecting flight just made it, more delays, arrived at 12:45 a.m. instead of 10:45 p.m. just to find out they lost Rick's bag...bummer!! Good news is we received a call saying they located the bag, and will be sending it here tonight. Hopefully it is HIS bag, and we do not have a situation like in "Meet the Parents" :).

In saying all of that though our trip itself was AMAZING! We LOVE N. Carolina so very very much! The scenery is just breathtaking, and the time spent with family was very much needed. Plus I was able to kiss my little nephews about a million times each which was also a necessity! Here are just a few pictures of our trip I have some washing and unloading to do so I will need to post more at a later date!! Hope you enjoy ( the pictures do not do the place justice either!!)

They are the most precious little boys EVER. They are cracking up by the way because they are squirting my mom with water while she was taking this photo!

I will post more later :) Enjoy

MMMMM....KITCHEN

I love kitchens so very much! They are really the hub of a house. With my love of cooking and design you better believe the design of our future kitchen will have a lot of time, thought, and love put into it! This is just one of my ideas for a dreamy kitchen!
I would love one accent wall to be this dreamy midnight blue...
I am daydreaming of having a concrete countertop...I know some of you are going WHAATTT but it is so clean, simple and actually pretty affordable!
beautiful sink..
lovely convenient faucet...don't you just want to play with it...
I love keeping cabinets simple and easy to clean these white ones are so airy and clean to me...
place this modern fridge in the mix...
for the table I am still loving white tulip tables such as this ( although ours is a knock off by ikea but we still LOVE it!)
I think I would like about two little ghost chairs and a nice bench like these to go against the blue wall...

I not quite sure of over head lighting yet but I am feeling industrial lights like these...
pretty ikat pillows for the bench...
and to top it off a bold piece of art in a simple white frame to go front and center on the blue wall...

maybe not this exact one although I do still love the print...but the hubby and I have made a deal that he decides the artwork(most of it :) and I get to do the rest of the designing so I will leave the artwork to him!
This is just my idea of a great kitchen what would your dream kitchen include?

HELLO KITTY HELLO JAZZY

I have been wanting to help decorate a room for our little niece, Jazzy. She loves hello kitty, well her mom does, but I am sure Jazzy loves it as well. I wanted to come up with a little idea board just for the fun of it! Typically Hello Kitty themed rooms are pretty much pure pink. I wanted to come up with something a little more unique, and maybe not so pink, for our little girl!

I thought soft blue or a light tan might be a nice contrast to the bolder colors I wanted to bring in through pictures and accessories.

I love the idea of a photo gallery wall. Obviously dedicating a number of pictures to the Kitty herself, but also adding other girlie elements as well as maybe a few family photos in b&w.

I love the idea of bringing in b&w stripes on the accessories like with the lamp...

...some black floating shelves...

 ...a cute little stool ...

...or this SERIOUSLY ADORABLE stool by KIDROBOT...
I may just have to get this for our kids one day or now...hmmm

To help with organization, which I love, these cute baskets to attempt to keep everything neat and clean.

I have so many more ideas just not enough page to put them all up :) ! By the way this is thee Jazzy I am wanting to make this room for...

BEACH FRONT PROPERTY

Typically the whole beachy look would not be the style I would want in our master bedtroom... unless it looked a little something like this....
